    Hi,
Have you tried other videos? I test videos in the theme, but it plays well.
Go to Appearance-Ontone option-Home page-Section 1-Section Background Video, here you just need to put your Youtube video ID.

    May it helpful

My video only works when I am logged in and editing. Log out or try to view on another browser and I have a black background-no video. The same thing was true with the video link supplied with the template. As long as I was logged in and editing it played perfectly. Log out-no video.

Also, there is the issue of the YouTube grid showing up at the end of my video when I can view it. Any suggestions there?

    Hi,SusanUtley
Try another video,or you can restore default(Dashboard->apperance->Onetone->Options->Home Page->Restore Default). If it doesn’t work ,please provide your site link, so we can know it clearly.

The youtube grid, we can’t fix it ,it is the video on youtube.

    Have a good day.

Thanks MageeWP. I do appreciate your assistance! I am new to WP so am using OneTone to learn on before purchasing one of your business themes.

I have not resolved the issue, but have determined it is NOT a OneTone theme issue. I use Chrome and the “other” browser I am trying to view the website in is Safari 7.0 which apparently is notorious for issues with playing embedded YouTube videos. Logging out of WP and viewing website and the OneTone demo works fine in Chrome just not in Safari.

I am working on it now, but the solutions provided in Apple forums are not helping. I asked friends to view the site in Safari and they too have issues with embedded videos. So, solving on my browser will not be of much help if the majority of other viewers are having the same problem.

If I host the video on my own server, can you provide code that will allow the same effect in section one of the home page? This would also solve the YouTube grid at the end of the video which appears in mine but not at the end of your demo video. Thank you so much.

    Hi,SusanUtley
I’m afraid I can’t help you to solve your problem, I try to install Safari in my computer, but when I run the browser, operating system no response again and again.

Thanks for trying. Is there any way to self host the video or is YouTube the only option?

    We only support YouTube now.

Hi! my video looks alright from chrome, but not from safari can u help me?
    my site is piro-reyes.com

Beck_luna, I am pretty certain the problem is with Safari, not the theme. Here is the test to see if I am correct: open the Onetone demo in Safari. If the theme’s demo video does not play, then you have a browser issue. You have to figure out a way to force Safari to play embedded YouTube videos. There are a number of threads on the Apple forums with suggested fixes, but nothing has worked for me so far. If you figure it out, let me know!

Keep in mind, it really doesn’t matter if we fix it on our browser or not. The majority of Safari users will not be able to view the video. So the solution would be for the Onetone developers to figure out an alternate way to embed the video. Otherwise, we need to accept that it will not play in Safari or switch to another theme–unless someone else has a better solution.
