• Hi, I love how simple yet useful this plugin is! It makes it so much easier for me to manage the categories for my posts.

I have a huge request that will make this plugin even more useful which is adding support for any custom taxonomy where we could choose which custom taxonomies we would want to enable the plugin for on the plugin settings page.

I would like to thank you so much for sharing this plugin with everyone. <3

Hi @hatisenang, thanks for your support.

Good news is that we are already working on a new version of the plugin that will support any custom taxonomy. It will probably come out in early September

Hi, I’ve updated to the new version, and yes! I can now enable it for any custom taxonomy I want! Thank you so much. Please keep up the amazing work.

One question though, I noticed in order to add new categories we still have to use the built in WP categories meta box. Is that correct or am I missing something and I should be able to add new cats using FSM Backend Category Organizer’s meta box?

    Thank you.

Hi @hatisenang. Glad you like the last update

As for your question: You are correct, the plugin does not have a way to add new categories. The original use for it was to just offer a limited set of categories to the editors and enforce the use of this set, with only the administrators being able to manage and add new ones through “Posts>Categories”. Also, as it is right now, it could produce some confusion if you have the “Hide full list” option checked, as the new categories may not appear if created outside the tabbed ones.

While there are not plans to add this feature, we may add it in some way in the future
