    Hi guys,

I did a update last week with Woocommerce and Avada theme. after the update I have these super weird random order numbers.
One order is #66889 then the next one is #44691 and #39334 etc

I know it skips order numbers etc but there was always some flow/continuity to the numbers.

I did go to Tools and make sure my databse is updated and the Product table.

What else can I do to get my order numbers back to normal?

    Thank you for your help.

    Regards,
    Jhorene

    Hi there,

As you may be aware, using WordPress, posts, pages, and media files have IDs that aren’t necessarily in order. The first one might be 20 and the next might be 43. WooCommerce uses the same ID system to create the order number which is why they’re out of order.

The WooCommerce Sequential Order Numbers Pro plugin allows your store to have sequential, rather than random, order numbers.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Amanda,

Thank you for the reply. But yes I agree with Sebastiaan it seems more like a bug in the last Woocommmerce update because there was always some order, but how is this any kind of order when these orders were placed one after the other?
    Order 1 – 39334
    Order 2 – 44691
    Order 3 – 66889

That’s a massive and inconsistent jump. Also this is only an online shop, so no other post ID’s were created for pages / blog etc.

Your help will be appreciated. Thanks again.

    Regards,
    Jhorene

Post IDs can be influenced by things other than blog posts, products or even pages – it could also be influenced by “hidden” custom post types. Given the large gaps, I’m wondering whether the scheduled actions might be at play here – You can see those in action under WooCommerce > Status > Action Scheduler

Sidenote: To force sequential order numbers, you’ll want to check out the following extension: https://woocommerce.com/products/sequential-order-numbers-pro/
