• The documentation says “If you are familiar with Twitter’s OAuth process you’ll find this really easy”.

    If……

Unfortunately, if you aren’t familiar with the process, you’ll find it really hard.

There’s no guidance on what the fields mean or where to get the information you need to complete them. A few sentences simple explanations added to the screenshots (eg what web-addresses should you enter? what exactly is the consumer secret and how do you find it) are all it would take to transform this plugin into something really useful.

As it is, there are several hours of my one and only precious lifetime I won’t get back again. And it’s clearly a really useful plug-in.

So, in case you missed this in the screenshots and also the help text placed directly under the fields themselves, to help you create a consumer key and secret, there’s a link labelled “create one here” that, when clicked, auto-fills all the Tumblr API fields for you. Maybe you can try clicking on that to help you get your Tumblr account connected to your WordPress site. One click on that link will save you hours of your one and only precious lifetime. That’s why the link is both in the screenshots and the input field’s description.
