You can use any plugin to accomplish this.

Most image rotation plugins will give you a shortcode to insert in your home page post… where you want it displayed.

There are tons… just search the repo.

    But, might I suggest one??

    WP Photo Album Plus

    Great developer. Great plugin!!

Many thanks for the suggestion but err… how is it all deployed?

I see I have to install the plugin, (I am very new to the techie side of WP) but then what, step by step please.

    Installed it and got:

Unable to create depot directory. Ask your administrator to give you more rights, or create /home/polyhive/public_html/wp-content/wppa-depot manually using an FTP program.
This is what I hate, do one thing and find another hassle… what does it mean?

You need to FTP into your site (or use whatever file management application your host provides) & create a new folder called wppa-depot inside the wp-content folder.

I realise this makes me sound totally thick but this means nothing to me.

I have the admin code for the site. So logged in as Admin I need to do what?

See the page at the link I posted above. This is done outside of WordPress.

Update, I phoned my web host last night and he has done it for me so I now have the photo album installed. Just the minor matter of working out how to get it all to work.

    Not straightforward is it?
