Support » Theme: Dellow » Very New and Need Help

  • Greetings I have downloaded The Dellow theme and quite excited however, I haven’t the slightest idea about customizing. And I can’t seem to find a lot of support and hopefully someone can help me here. I would like to remove the menu and the logo text from the header. I hope these options aren’t only available the upgrade, I have the free version. Thanks a bunch to anyone who can help me : )

  • Hey there Artnsmt,

    How are you doing today?

    This could be done with some custom CSS. The easiest way to do that would be to add it in your site using the following plugin

    Once the plugin is installed and activated you can add this code to Appearance >> Custom CSS:

    .menu, .site-branding {
    display: none;

    This should remove the navigation and the logo from your header. If this doesn’t work could you please add link to your site so I can take a look? Just out of curiosity how to you plan to navigate between pages on your site if you remove the navigation?

    Hope this helps 🙂

    Best regards,

    AWESOME Bojan! I will definitely look into this, I’m such a newbie at designing that I hadn’t quite considered the navigation part..or even using any css styling. Thank you so much for taking the time out to help and I’ll report back later this day with updates.

    Hey Bojan! I hope your day is going swell, that plugin worked perfectly!!! I’m super stoked for designing my site and learning much more! Do you have any suggestions for learning about css styling, coding, and such? There are a few other changes I would love to make and not sure how. Thank you for all of your help, this has brightened my day already : )

    Hey again,

    Not sure about learning sites and what to suggest. You might wanna check this: It’s where I learned a lot.

    As for the modifications what you’re looking to change, maybe I can help you out 🙂

    Great suggestion, I started reading the materials and watching tutorials last night. Starting with HTML, it is a bit much for me at this time but I’ll continue on. What I would like to do is changed the height of my header, create a magazine layout for my static page, and change the color of the menu slider. (For starters) I’ve been searching through plugins and reading so much but honestly I’m not that knowledgeable of developing a website quite yet.

    The Site is (I can’t figure out how to enter the link) Thanks again for all of your help, I’m a bit overwhelmed with this but excited about all the newness that comes with blogging.

    With Many Thanks,

    Hey again Artie,

    Glad the you’re enjoying tutorials 🙂

    There is already a margin on your header so you can use that to increase the height of it. Please try adding the following CSS:

    #masthead {
    margin: 150px auto;

    Note that this is the original value of the margin. First number represents top and bottom margin on the header. Simply increase it to what ever suits you the most.

    As for changing the the menu slider, I’m not exactly sure what you mean. Are you simply trying to change the color of the top bar or the background color of the expanded menu slider Also what you mean by magazine layout for the static page?

    Best regards,

    Hey Bojan I figured out quite a bit and did changed the header as you’ve mentioned above. For the static page I wanted more of a column-oriented with a slider and such to keep up with latest posts. I haven’t figured it out quite yet but I’m working on it. Thanks a lot for all of your help.

    With Many Thanks,

    Hey again Artinces,

    As far as I can see the theme already has slider built in it, to use it go to Appearance >> Dellow Settings >> Slider Settings.

    As for adding the columns, since these are not static page content columns this would require making a lot of modifications in the code and unfortunately I’m not proficient enough to assist you with that.

    Best regards,
