Thanks for your feedback. Just to clarify, this free plugin does include a direct link to posts, but it does not include photos from your posts. We added that feature to a Pro version in order to generate some revenue to allow us to continue to support this plugin completely for free.
When this plugin was first released there was no Pro version, but supporting and maintaining it took up so much of my time that I had to either abandon the plugin or create a Pro version. I chose to create a Pro version so that I could continue to support users of this plugin for free.
When you say that it “generates an ugly text blob”, I’m wondering if your theme didn’t load the CSS style sheet from our plugin successfully, as the free plugin is styled just like the Pro version is and inherits the text styles from your theme. If there was an issue with your theme not loading the stylesheet from the plugin then we can help you with that if you submit a support ticket either here or here.
Again, thanks for your feedback. It’s a little disheartening to receive a 1-star review based on the reason you provided. It’s kind of like someone giving you a free car with free maintenance for life, but you then complain that it doesn’t have a CD player 😉
