Support » Themes and Templates » Very large font on IE7 w/widescreen display

Using Ocadia 1.1 format I am getting extremely large fonts on the sidebar when the blog is diplayed on a widescreen laptop. Also, the search box extends out beyond the sidebar area (colored area of template). I am also getting a varying font size about midway in my posts. It goes from a normal looking font to a larger one. This may be related to creating teh post in a WP. I’ll see if I can fix that.

I am new to this and not experienced in HTML programming. My hope was to do a non-customized blog until I can learn more. So, I chose WordPress for its flexibility.

Have you tried loading the classic or default themes that came with your WP download? In Admin “Dashboard” Presentation>> Themes. CLick on the Default. Does the text normalize?

Yes, multitalented. All the other default themes work find with either type of display. The problem is that I don’t really like any of the default themes. Am I out of luck?

I believe that fonts can be determined by viewer IF they are declared with ems. 1 em=standard viewing in that particular font. And different browsers render it differently. So it seems that your writer wrote it with pixels or points instead of em’s. You can try to change them youself in the stylesheet >> style.css or something similar. or you can find another theme you like.
