Very inconsistent, frustrating at times

    I have been a Siteground customer for year and generally like their products and services. This plugin just can’t seem to handle larger sites, and even on smaller ones it takes so long running the initial compression steps that I could export and migrate the site using another plugin in the time it takes to just compress the site. It get’s choked up on “Files archived, compressing the database..” frequently (you can find lots of support posts about this). I’ve also had issues where it did run correctly, but the backup still showed as processing on the source site. It’s just a very frustrating plugin.

    Hello @torndownunits,

    The delay with the file compression usually comes from the remote server where the migration is actually handled. The plugin has a log present in /wp-content/siteground-migrator.log that would help you track the process and spot any eventual errors that could be preventing the backup generation.
