• I am new to this and am embarrassed to admit that I don’t understand a basic part of WordPress. I have an admin login and password. Fine, they work and all is well there. I have a login and password to get on this forum and that (obviously) works too. However, there was some other password and log in which I don’t have and don’t know how to recover. If I want to put my WordPress on Ping.fm, I don’t know what login and/or password to use. Do I have to sign up for a new one? If I have one, where should I go to find it, or do I need to go to another area to pick it up? Are there really 3 sets of logins and passwords to make it all work? (That is OK but I just want to know if that is the case).Thanks.

Yes. Ping.fm has nothing to do with WordPress.

OK, I thought that I had to give them my login and password to enter my account so that it would upload to WordPress like it did to Blogger. I can certainly sign up for a new one.

If anyone else is having the same problem: try using your password to the blog you claimed at wordpress.com. So if your blog hosted by wordpress is myblog.wordpress.com try using that password and it might well work with Ping.fm. That worked for me.

My solution was to get sorten2Ping from Aguilera and install it. That guided me through the entire maze of things I had to do. Just do try it without any of the other shorteners out there, (set shortener to None) otherwise your blog might not shorten. Also, be sure to think up snappy titles as they will show up and be all of your message in default mode.
