Woocommerce allows you to get up and running with a powerful, flexible and extendable ecommerce solution at low cost. It is highly customisation via plugins or your own development via the available hooks.

It is, however, a headache to maintain as with such a complex system and with new features being added all the time there are inevitable issues/bugs that often get introduced with updates so requires diligent testing before releasing an update to a live website (esp if you have any customisation) and being patient while waiting for fixes.

The support is very responsive to forum posts.
