• I bought SS because of the good reviews, but I’ve had nothing but pain.
    1. It’s immensely fiddly – you have to set every view differently for it to be responsive. The preview and the setting icons are in a different order so it’s very easy to get mixed up.
    2. I have spent all day setting up a slider from a template I downloaded – should be easy peasy as all I wanted to do was replace the images with mine and change the text. Oh no. I eventually got two slides working perfectly and saved everything, went back and checked, all good, copied one of the slides to make the next one and started, went back to the other two and the static slide and they had all corrupted. No reason. A whole day’s work lost.
    3. Help – This is NOT helpful. Only via email. I sent screenshots, explained the problem etc and just got back “you need to use the different setting for different devices, here’s a link how” I KNOW THAT, I did that, it took me hours. THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM.

So all in all, a really bad experience leaving me feeling immensely frustrated, and sick of SS3. I’ve used Rev Slider in the past and it’s so much more user friendly; unfortunately I’ve bought the pro version of this rubbish and I can’t afford to bin it and go back to Rev.

    Hi @rutlandliz,

I’m really sorry for your bad experience. Please send me your order id and I will refund your order. My email address: roland@nextendweb.com

In Smart Slider 3.1 the editing of the slides based on a canvas (absolute positions), where everything scales to be able to fit to the different screen sizes. When you are working with lot of layer, you have to plan the alignments of the different layers and set the relation between layers. It needs some learning curve to be able to set layers well, but Revolution Slider works with the same toolkit. So if you can use Rev slider, you should be able to user Smart Slider too.

Two weeks ago, we released our content mode in version 3.2, which makes much easier to create slides more easier and with this mode most of the time you do not need to take care of the different screen sizes. Here you can check the two tutorials for content mode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sr5KAxpRhxU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aj5BieYjxnc I’m not sure if you tried this mode or not.

(Smart Slider 3.2 version is not yet available in the free version, but will come in 3 weeks.)

Ps.: I checked your support tickets. My colleagues kindly answered your questions in minutes and tried to help you in email. I saw from your questions that you do not take your time to learn to use Smart Slider 3 from our video tutorials. We also have personal personal webinar for $50/hour where our qualified colleague can teach you with Teamviewer. There is no WordPress plugin developer on the market who can give you phone support if you just buy a plugin.

    Best regards,
    Roland Soos
