Very basic question about anti-spam plugins

  • TaraFitz

OK so I’m sure this is a really dumb question but I can’t seem to figure it out. My blog is getting spammed out of existence on a regular basis and I desperately need to install an anti-spam plugin (or five!). Anyway, every set of instructions to do this starts with: “Go to plugins on your menu…”

Except, I don’t see a “plugins” section anywhere on my wordpress page. So I can’t even get started. It’s driving me crazy. Why can’t I see it? Where is it? Do I not have one??

Any help would be most gratefully accepted.

    Thank you.

  • Akismet is installed by default, but not activated. It is one of the best. You need to get a key, Technically, the key is free for non-commercial sites but give them something. It is worth it, and rude not to. They have overhead keeping the spam databases updated and such, and the servers running.
