• With Gutenberg writing content is harder (more complicated and time consuming) and making a mess is easier. If it becomes the default editor anyone can make a beautiful and well designed site look ugly by adding a huge text block on a bright orange background or something like that.

  • Hi there, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Can you elaborate on what in particular you think is more complicated and time consuming? While it may be true that making an ugly site could be easier, it is also true that it could be easier for many people to make a beautiful site! 🙂

As a web designer it’s my job to make beautiful sites for people who can’t do it themselves. DIYers can use some page building platform, they don’t need to install WordPress for that. Everyone doesn’t want a page builder.

Writing a blog post or article is more complicated and time consuming with Gutenberg, because everything is in a separate block. It took me a long time to find the button that changes block type. Very unintuitive.
