Vertigo Electrified - Do you know how to modify the header? (6 posts)

I have downloaded the Vertigo Electrified template. I want to modify the header to reflect my blog name.

I cannot figure out how to do it. I've looked at the code from other blogs who are using another Vertigo theme and try to mimic their code changes. All to no avail.

I've sent an email to the designer but have not heard back from him yet. I've been all over the net trying to find instructions, but again, to no avail.

    Can anyone help?

the first thing I would suggest is to download the updated version which only comes in blue

secondly the header is a series of images

alter these images or use the blank images that should be located in your theme in the images file.

If you do not have an image editing program you can use an online one

I'm not real fond of the blue template. The one I downloaded in the red is a 3 column. Can I still alter the header with the instructions you've given above?

Or are you saying that the newer version is more user-friendly when it comes to altering the header?

    thanks for the help!

altering the header will be basically the same in both.

The newer one just has updated features and is made to work with the newer wordpress versions.

I managed to alter the blank header using one of the editing programs you linked to.

Now my dilemma is figuring out how to change the header. Do I just go to the code and link back to the new header somehow?

I'm a complete novice at this. Sooner or later I'll be able to figure it out I'm sure, but it would be nice if I could get some direction.

use the same ftp program you used to upload your wordpress files.

    open wp-content..themes...vertigo...images

now upload and overwrite the image files with your new image files.

If you saved the new look with the old file name it is as simple as that.

if you called it something else you will need to alter your stylesheet and upload it.
