Support » Fixing WordPress » Vertical Text Position in Horizontal Menu

  • A simple question, but I don’t know the answer.

    How do I adjust the postion of only the text and not the menu? I’m not sure if I’m even asking this right, but basically I’m trying to adjust the position of the text vertically so that it’s 30px lower. (http://www.peteandviv.com)

    I’ve been able to move the menu down 30px, but I don’t want to do that. I’d like to keep its allignment and only move the text. It appears the text is set to a default vertical position of being in the middle.

    I’ve pasted below from the style.css the part, I think controls the menu style.

    I’m lost, any help would be appreciated!

    #nav {list-style: none;margin: 0;position: absolute;right: 20px;top: 12px;}

    #nav li {float: right;margin-left: 0;}

    #nav .current_page_item a, #nav .current_page_item a:visited{color: #A03F1A;}

    #nav .page_item a{color: #fff;text-decoration: none;background: transparent;padding: 113px 1px;

    font: bold 14px/100% Geneva, sans-serif;text-transform:uppercase;border-right: 1px solid #fff;

    display: block;}

    #nav .page_item a:hover {color: #A03F1A;background:#fff;
    }

  • Yes, I got it! I needed to another set of numbers on the padding of the #nav .page_item line. I pasted it below. It took a little adjusting but looks just the way I want it to now. Yeah!

    #nav .page_item a{color: #fff;text-decoration: none;background: transparent;padding: 150px 1px 67px;
