Vertical navigation in head

Hi, I havn’t used WP for a while so I’m a bit rusty.

Im customising a theme for a client and need a vertical menu on the right of the logo, that uses something similar to drop down menus. I’ve been looking for similar themes but can’t really find one that works. Has any one got any suggestions, maybe I need a plugin?
