Vertical Menu Remembering Open Link

    Hello,

    I am wanting to use the vertical menu but in terms of usability, there’s a something I’m wanting it to do which having checked I can’t see mentioned anywhere.

    When a person clicks say 2 levels into the menu it does not remember the open link in terms of keeping that link open to show the user which page they are on.

    I understand an active style can be applied but that does not deal with the menu effectively being closed after each click and then the user having to click several levels back in again to find the next link.

    Is there a way to make the menu links stay open after being clicked?

    Unfortunately, It works like that. To alter it, you have to write custom code for it. and it falls under Personal Customization, and as such is out of our scope: https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/685-support-policy
    Usually, when it comes only to a few lines of code, we are more than eager to help everyone achieve the desired look. However, this is really more than that, and I would kindly advise you to consult a professional on this matter.

    Hello,

    I had a dev look into this and he said it wouldn’t work as on each click of the link the page reloads. His words, not mine.

    So I ended up looking into https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/megamenu/ (pro version – accordion feature) does what was needed. Just in case others are looking for a solution.

    Hello,

    Thank you for sharing the plugin.
    In oceanwp, the menu is designed in that way. If you want to customize it and make it as per your need, you can always do it using child theme and custom code.

    Hi Abhishek,

    I had a dev look at it and he said the way it works at present it couldn’t be altered to do what I want. Quicker & cheaper to buy the other menu (plus it plays nicely with Ocean) and there are lots and lots of options.

    Hello,

    I agree with your dev, Since Oceanwp menu can’t be customized easily, I would also suggest you to use another menu to get your desired designs.
