    Hello nk,

recently I wanted to improve my site with a video in the beginning. However I don’t get rid of the vertical black stripes to the left and right of the video when looking at it on a wider screen (15 inch). I presently use a MacBook Pro early 2011, MacOS 10.13.6, Firefox 86.0.1.

I already tried to use the class=”alignwide;” option for the block (as proposed to ACEkin, support topic “Block width problem”) without effect. Currently I use wp 5.5.3, awb 1.7.4 with a self-made theme based on twitter bootstrap 4.3.1 combined with themify builder.

Do you have an idea or hint?

    Best regards
    felibunda

Sorry to have bothered you with this support question. The black stripes where within the video itself! I created a video with imovie 10.1.2 and used the transitioins “cross blur” and “cross dissolve”. Imovie adds black stripes at the left and right sides which cannot be seen in imovie, but they can be seen after sharing the movie as a file (.mp4) and looking at it with vlc player. I was able to remove the black stripes like I discribed in the “disqus comments” at the url https://becomethesolution.com/blogs/mac/easy-remove-black-bars-from-videos-in-imovie-10-1

So, the black stripes are a “feature” of imovie.

I removed the test site with the above given url.
