 * Just downloaded (from WP.org) and installed what claimed to be 2.1.2, but dashboard
   displays “2.1”. Is it supposed to show 2.1.2? I checked the version.php and it
   shows 2.1 as well.
 * Want to make sure I have the newest version.

 * Of course though, once they “officially release” that 2.1.3 you’ll have to get
   that latest batch of files and apply the rest of the files and such…
 * 2.1.3 will be officially released soon, very soon.
 * What I do is, I SVN CO whatever version I want on my domains.
    svn co [http://svn.automattic.com/branches/2.1/](http://svn.automattic.com/branches/2.1/).
 * Then it’s just a matter of SVN UP on the domains to get the latest fixed files…

 * It **should** show the 2.1.X as far as I know… I haven’t been running the branches/
   though. I’ve been running trunk/ which is “2.2-bleeding”.. which is what shows
   for me, same as what’s in version.php.
 * So my guess is, it should be showing 2.1.2 for you then. Maybe try clearing your
   browser cache. CTRL + F5 together.

 * Still showing “2.1”
 * This is a fresh, first time install from the .zip linked to on the main download
   page. Downloaded about 2hrs ago. The file is labeled 2.1.2
 * I am new to WP and wonder why they obfuscate the version #. I had to search the
   forums to find out where to look, and even then I wasn’t sure. The way it is 
   displayed, 2.1 – x.xx seconds, makes it look like part of the page creation time.

 * I just downloaded both the zip and the tar.gz from [http://wordpress.org/download/](http://wordpress.org/download/)
   to check this. In both downloads, version.php contains this:
 *     ```
       $wp_version = '2.1.2';
       $wp_db_version = 4773;
       ```
   
 * I installed 2.1.2 last weekend, and at the foot of my dashboard, I see this:
 * `2.1.2 — 0.72 seconds`
 * If you’re seeing 2.1, you have either got a cached page, or the wrong download.

 * Time to clean my desktop! I had planned to do this install several weeks ago 
   and had downloaded and extracted 2.1 to a folder which I forgot was on my desktop.
   It was the first one that appeared in my FTP client and the one that got installed.
   DOH!
