It’d be great if we could store the custom post type information as JSON (just like ACF) in active theme, so that they’re version controlled and deployed to production as part of the theme.

I know we have this type of thing mostly technically available for the settings for CPTUI, but not for the post content itself, in case you meant that too. I don’t believe we have anything currently wired up to automatically read the file, but at minimum it could be version controlled and ready to be used on prod at some point.
