 * The best thing to do right away is to go to your site using FTP, inside the wp-
   content/plugins directory and rename the plugin (maxbuttons) directory to something
   else. This will turn if off for now and get your site back while we figure this
   out.
 * Do you know by any chance which PHP version your site is running?

 * I followed your advice on renaming the plugin, and was able to login to the admin
   area. I updated to version 4.0.1 And all seems to be alright for the moment. 
   Thanks for the quick resolution of the problem.
