    Hi Vinod!

Previous versions work well. You can do the test with the cookies page. Two pages that I put excluded, after searching continue to appear.

Ivory Search → Search Forms → Default Search Form → Excludes → Pages → Exclude selected pages form search (in version 4.5.1 it works and in 4.5.2 it doesn’t)

I show you my test site but in the real one I had to go back to the previous version 4.5.1. Because I have excluded special pages related to the typical subscription forms (‘subscription activated’, for example) and other pages.
    What could be the problem?

In addition, I observe that the magnifying glass is put back in the box and when clicking… it loads all the articles of the blog, something that does not interest me. Is there a possibility to disable its display by options panel?

    Greetings from Spain!

I hope you are well today and thank you for your questions.

I have tested it on my test site and it’s working fine for me using the latest version of the Ivory Search plugin.

This may be related to the below issue so will get resolved after making the below stated changes.

In addition, I observe that the magnifying glass is put back in the box and when clicking… it loads all the articles of the blog, something that does not interest me. Is there a possibility to disable its display by options panel?

Could you please go to the below path and make sure that you have selected the “Default Search Form” in the dropdown option where this text displays “Select search form that will control menu search functionality”?

Ivory Search -> Settings -> Menu Search

    Hi Vinod!

Obviously I have not explained it well. Cookies pages were excluded from the search engine, therefore they should not appear in any search.

    Attached link with images: https://imgur.com/a/3C0uuOy

In image 1, there are two search options. Option 1 is for a specific search. While option 2, if you click on it, the search shows all the posts and pages of the site. Even which were excluded as you see in image 3.

I have no problem with what is shown in image 1 and as I have it configured in image 2, your path to change display options in the search box. I do not mean that. What I want is that option 2 of image 1 does not appear.

I repeat version 4.5.1 respects the pages that I have excluded from the search results. Version 4.5.2. no.

    Do you understand me now?

    Greetings!

I think what I have explained to you earlier in my reply will resolve your issue.

Could you please go to the below path and make sure that you have selected the “Default Search Form” in the dropdown option where this text displays “Select search form that will control menu search functionality” as shown in this screenshot https://imgur.com/a/ai3JYCG ?

    Oh, wow. Excuse me Vinod!

I did not understand that this option, Default Search Form, had been disabled when updating. When there was the big update to plugin life here (even with plugin renaming) this option never got disabled. Even in this new update the option → ‘Add class to search form menu item’ is not left without any value, which still maintains the class: astm-search-menu.

Thanks for putting the capture image. I go quickly to finish other jobs and frankly there are many options to handle. I chose your plugin at the beginning because it was simple but later it was complicated with so many options and filters. Although it’s welcome that it’s free, sometimes I waste a lot of time.

By the way, the work in the search engine is remarkable now (with that opening in the dropdown of various articles). I have another question regarding it but I will look for info before in your forum or I will open a new topic.

Thank you very much for your patience and good attitude.

    Greetings!

Thank you Joan for your detailed reply and contributing to improve the plugin by using it and providing your valuable feedback.

Actually, I can understand your situation.

There are some improvements made in the plugin which need a bit of intervention as they can’t be done smoothly due to technical limitations.

I was aware of this thing therefore I displayed the notice “Implemented major search form UI enhancements! Please test it before upgrading” below the plugin update notification as shown in the screenshot https://imgur.com/a/c7JdNru so that users will be aware of this thing and will test it on development or staging website before updating the plugin on the production website.

Hi Vinod. Sorry for late reply, I was tired of another job.

Ivory Search free version does not warn of important changes in version 4.5.2 you can see screenshot here: https://imgur.com/a/bbrRMty

I always test before in the development version (demo) before making changes in the production website. But I did not think there would be such important changes because I did not see notice of it, as I indicate in the screenshot above.

    Greetings! 🙂

    Ohh sorry for that 🙁

It seems the issue or glitch of the WordPress notification which didn’t notify you but you can see in the bottom of the below plugin readme file I have added the notice in it.

Don’t worry about it. No problem.

I told you because I saw that the capture was referring to the premium version. And perhaps you were not aware that WordPress did not give notice in the free version.

    Greeting 🙂

Yes, that may be the case but not confirmed.
