  • skyepes Without any progress, still bad, correct?

sebek0222. my solution is remove the wpp widgets, only active the plugin

skyepes so you have enabled that plugin only, but without widgets. Then do you use a custom sql query or something like that?

no . i just use this to track the stats. the code in side will eat most of the resource. maybe some one can check the code and resolve this problem

It’s not a problem with the code (believe me, I’ve been working on this since 2008) but a limitation.

Reading data from the database (which is what the plugin does when the widget lists the posts) should be a fairly quick operation. Writing to the database (updating the views count) on the other hand is more expensive as it takes longer.

On small / medium sites this isn’t a problem because the database server is able to perform well since there are not that many visits, but what happens for sites that get a lot of page views (eg. 125k per day)? Database lockdowns can happen if there are too many concurrent connections attempting to write to the same row(s), which in turn affects your site’s performance. Registering every single page view on a large site will undoubtedly have an impact on its performance.

This is why it’s recommended to enable Data Sampling, as it will lower the number of database writes drastically.

H├ęctor Cabrera, thanks for your reply. but after i enabled the cache and data sampling feature,in the first week there speed is well, but after a week we are getting bad site’s load time

If your site gets around 20k visits per day, a sampling rate of 100 might not be enough. Try adjusting it to a higher value (eg. 120) and see if it helps.

Also, what other plugins are installed on your site?
