    Hi,

    I’ve been using the 1.0.7 version a and was very happy about how it worked. After upgrading to the latest version I feel like the plugin moved backwards…
    Why are there only three size options to choose from and no posibility of chosing the exact dimensions?
    Aspect ratio alone doesn’t do the job. I loved getting the featured-image pics in the exact size of the frame. The interface was better too, imho.

    1. The size options SHOULD be identical. PTE doesn’t control these, they are set by themes (usually).
    2. I don’t understand what you mean my “getting the featured-image pics in the exact size of the frame”. From my perspective the new version hasn’t removed any functionality, only enhanced the existing capabilities. If you modify a thumbnail that has an exact crop set (meaning the frame is precisely defined to a specific width/height) then the aspect ratio is set to that width/height ratio. If this is not happening, your post thumbnails are probably not defined correctly. See this for more information.

      If you post the results from this query http://site/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=pte_ajax&id=108&pte-action=get-thumbnail-info, I can give you more information. Change the site and the id fields. (You can find the id from the pte-id of a PTE page.</p>

    This is one of those times when things start becoming clear very, very quickly… and all because of my lack of knowledge on the topic.
    For some reason I thought that thumbnail sizes were defined by the plugin. What is more, I mislead myself even more not realising that the last time I saw PTE interface was on a different theme than now… shame on me.
    The query you sent me results in:
    {"thumbnail":{"width":"120","height":"120","crop":"1","current":false},"medium":{"width":"300","height":"300","crop":false,"current":false},"large":{"width":"1024","height":"1024","crop":false,"current":false}}
    which brings even more colour to my stupidity 😛
    So now please just forgive my dumb question and I will just go to read the reference on defining new image sizes…

    Great! I’m glad I could help, and don’t hesitate to post a comment if you see any problems or have any suggestions for my plugin.

    You made me smarter today 🙂
    I defined a new thumbnail size with fixed crop and now 2+2=4 😀
    Thank you very much for your help and sorry for the unnecessary fuss.
