• My whole site got messed up after updating from 2.7.6 to 2.8.1
How can you push an update that is sooooo bad without testing it first?

My responsiveness got messed up but there is alredy a thread by someone else for that issue.

I wanted to bring up another issue that also got messed up after this horrible update. Anchor widget is not working anymore if you have a sticky widget to the top. What happens is that the anchor elements end up underneath the sticky widget instead which makes the anchor widget totally unusable.

When will this be fixed? After this I’m seriously afraid to make any updates to Elementor… I rolled back to 2.7.6 which is great that it is possible but with updates like this one, you will lose peoples trust in Elementor. Nobody wants to get theirs whole site messed up. This was by far the absolute worst update you have ever made.

  • Hi,

Please try going over this guide:
    https://docs.elementor.com/article/235-update-issues

I hope it solves your issue.

I have already tried all of those things, it has nothing to do with other plugins and I don’t have any caching plugins installed. It is easy to put the blame on everything else when you push a real bad update by the way. Just please look at all the tickets regarding this update…. everybody is having some kind of problems.

Just please let the developer know that he totally messed up and the sooner he admits it the faster he can work on a solution to bring everything back to normal instead of blaming it on other plugins and everything else that worked just fine before this update.

People will lose confidence for Elementor if such behaviour continues. At the moment there are TONS of issues…. so please just read them and don’t ignore them by sending everybody the same link you have sent me, which I saw that you did but rather please take this serioulsy.

    Hi @bettingpelle!

If in Elementor you use Fontawesome (ver. 5.0), try replacing /wp-content/plugins/elementor/assets/lib/font-awesome/jsv4-shims.min.js file with this one:

    https://www.friulmdservice.it/wp-content/plugins/elementor/assets/lib/font-awesome/js/v4-shims.min.js

    As already reported here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/fontawesome-v4-shims-min-js-break-sites/

this is the cause of all the problems, because this file conflicts with other javascript files on the site.

    Hi,

Please update to the latest Elementor version available (2.8.2), it should solve your layout issue.

Let me know if your issue is fixed, after updating.

    Hello

    Thanks for your reply.

The update has not solved the issue. The main issue is with the “Anchor widget”.

To explain this better: when you create a menu on the same page using the anchor widget and when you click on a menu item it then automatically scrolls down to a specific element on that same page. The problem is that when you have a sticky element on top of the page, the anchor widget does not work as it should and scrolls down to the middle of the element instead. This got messed up after 2.7.6. I tried version 2.8.2 but the error was not fixed so I have reverted back to 2.7.6 again.

Can you please report this issue so it gets fixed in the next update?
