Or, is this how it is intended to function?
everything appears to be parsed correctly for the page based on the Facebook URL debugger
I don’t see continuous text in your blog post matching the description: you place the section title of “Blog” before the post and tags after the post.
This could be as intended; if you post a link to the published story on your Facebook Timeline (assuming it’s public) I can take a look.
Again, same thing happening here on this post:
https://www.facebook.com/mikeshupp/activity/10151865137337538
The part where usually the post description would appear (usually just the first few lines of the post), is instead replaced by the author, tags and category.
One thing I noticed, is that when I put my blog post’s link here in the Facebook Debugger, it’s pulling the og:image:width and og:image:height from the default fallback image (which I have implemented as described at the top of this forum: Customize Open Graph protocol for your site or network) instead of the featured image of this post (which displays correctly and which the debugger does see, just not in og:image:width and og:image:height).
What is the fix for this? That is, for the description be made to appear under the headline as it previously did, instead of the author, tags and category?
(Note: the very first link in my comment immediately above this one no longer exists; but the others do)
Here is another example: a screenshot of News Feed, where I published a test post to both my FB Profile and one of my FB Pages…
http://www.mikeshupp.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/ScreenClip1.png
…you can see that the one published to the FB Page displays in News Feed as expected, with the Description… but the one published to my FB Profile shows Author, Tags, Category, but no Description
Niall, what did you mean in your comment above, that “I don’t see continuous text in your blog post matching the description: you place the section title of “Blog” before the post and tags after the post.” ? I’m not following that…
Anyone know what’s going on here?
At the moment, my work-around is to simply comment out line 298 in
wp-content/plugins/facebook/facebook.php
// add_action( 'wp_head', array( 'Facebook_Open_Graph_Protocol', 'add_og_protocol' ) );
…and instead use the plug-in WP Facebook Open Graph protocol
I continue to try and use this plug-in’s generated Open Graph tags, but keep getting same result…
Can anyone explain why this Facebook post displays Author and Tags when I want it to simply display Description in their place…?

I’ve gone back to the work-around, so the example link in the immediately preceding post will no longer display the items in question.
