Support » Plugin: Gutenberg » vastly inferior to almost any page builder

  • I find Gutenberg to be conceptually confusing. It seems to be a replacement for the editor that does some layout as well.

As an editor it brings some kind of frontend editing to the backend. As a layout tool it’s inferior to any page builder I know.

Page builders exist because page editing in WodPress sucks, true. Yet Gutenberg is not the natively supported uber-builder I had hoped for.

It’s important to note that Gutenberg isn’t a page builder, which may be where some of the confusion is coming from. That said, what one thing do you feel should be different to help?

@karmatosed If people are experiencing it as a page builder, it’s a page builder.

If it’s not supposed to be a page builder, but people experience it as such, you’ve done something wrong.

Let me bit a little clearer then @dekket, it all depends on what you call a page builder. As stage one the focus is on the editor and then features that are more ‘like a page builder’ happen like Customization.
