    (1) Is there any way to show just the average rating score on other parts of the site (e.g. at the top of a post) by way of a shortcode or similar?
    (2) Is there any way to alter the colour of the rating symbol (stars in my case)?
    (3) It can be seen from this screenshot of a post comment on a mobile phone, that the text is aligned to the right hand side of the screen, possibly due to the fact that the commenter’s avatar is adjacent to her name. Is there any way of showing the avatar image above the name on mobile, rather than alongside it?

    Hi!
Thanks for your interest in Stars Rating plugin.

    1. This plugin offers a shortcode [stars_rating_avg] to display average rating anywhere in the post/page/CPTs detail or listing pages.
    2. Yes, it can be done with a very small piece of CSS code that can be added to your website’s customizer Additional CSS box. Once you have configured the plugin, share the website URL, and I will share the CSS code snippet with you accordingly.
    3. That’s not related to the Stars Rating plugin but from the theme styles. This plugin only inserts the stars as per given rating to each comment at the end. However, I will try to look into it and do it as per your need (not promised as your layout might not allow) once your plugin configuration is done.

    Thanks,

    Fahid

    Hi Fahid

Thanks for the information, and apologies for the late acknowledgement. This is only a part time project for me.

If I had taken the trouble to read the description of the plugin thoroughly when I first installed it, I would have seen the shortcodes offered and not wasted your time.

The colour of the stars is not vitally important for me at present, and your comment re the mobile view is logical, so I can live with these issues.

On another matter, I have inserted the shortcode [stars_rating_avg show_empty_rating=”no”] at the top of a template on the site I am building, on the assumption that this would hide the rating information until such time as a review was actually given – see this screenshot

However, when viewed in a browser, the “be the first to write a review” text and grey stars still appear, despite the fact that no reviews have been submitted – see this link

Have I misinterpreted the shortcode function, or is there some other reason?

I use Elementor as a page builder if this is relevant.

    Regards

    Michael

    Hi @mc1969,

I have tested the plugin short-code and everything is working fine. However, after checking your screenshot more closely I found that the double quotes are not correctly typed. Those are inverted. Please copy and paste this exact shortcode and your issue will be fixed.

    [stars_rating_avg show_empty_rating="no"]

    Thanks,

    Fahid

Brilliant! Not sure how that happened, but the problem is now solved. Many thanks.
