Support » Plugin: WebP Express » Varied image respones mode and cache refresh

  • On my work in progress website, I have WebP Express Plugin with “Varied image respones” mode, “Uploads and Themes” scope for both png and jpegs.

All was working really well, until I needed to rewrite a png on my custom theme (specifically website’s logo).
Now this png always appears like it was the first time it was uploaded, no matter what I do.

Of course I have first tried emptying browser’s cache (Firefox and Chrome)
If I open png’s URL with Safari I see the correct image, since the plugin is serving it as a real png.
I have tried changing Cache-Control to “max-age=0, public” and “no-cache”.

If I try to “Bulk convert” it says there are no images to convert, so it’s like the plugin can’t detect the image has been overwritten.

PNGs are served as webp type, and if I switch to “Uploads only” scope, I see the correct PNG.
What should I do to correctly see the new uploaded PNG served as webp?

I have resolved by manually converting the png to webp and replacing it in the folder where the plugin stores them.
By the way, any suggestions for helping WebP Express to detect that theme image files are overwritten are appreciated!
