All product images sizes are set to 300×300 in woocommerce. When I try add an image that size to a product variation, the image does not appear when I select the variation on the front end UNLESS I load in an image that is 150×150 or smaller.
Initially even that size did not work when the thumnaisl were set to be 90×90.
I do have a price entered.
I’ve cleared caches and test on mac Chrome and Firefox. I’m getting a javascript error that tells me I have mixed content, but if you roll over the place where the image is supposed to be long enough; the https appears. Either way, it does not explain why the smaller images appear.

    Woocommerce version 2.5.

Can anyone help? I’ve spent hours trying to figure this out.

I’ve seen some issues like this since 4.4. Are you on the latest wp release?

If you’re using https, set the home and site urls to https – match sure they match.

That did it. I had it set for http and used forced SSL on check out so that I could still cache all of my content pages as http (there are several) with wp super cache. Not sure how to use caching now though. But thank you!

By the way, for the benefit of anyone reading this thread – leaving “Force secure checkout” checked when I switched over meant that my downloads stopped downloading fully. Unchecking it allowed the downloads to complete.

I am having the same issue and I have changed my SSL options to all HTTPS but my images are still not showing. Does anyone have a detailed fix for this yet?
