Variable Product Help

    I have a couple products that are set as variable. The customer can purchase the product with 1 of 2 add-ons. The variable function works well for this except when I want to track the products inventory.

    Ideally, I want to track the product AND the add-on when they are sold. I also want to still be able to sell the product even if its marked out of stock (essentially I want it to track the product count but also always read as “in-stock” to the end-user. I have a local distributor and I never technically run out of the item)

    Currently, the way I have it set up with Variable Product will not let me achieve my goals (tried Back order function, didn’t work)

    Will the Product-Add-Ons plug in help with this -or- is there another way?

    Add-ons cannot have inventory.

    Backorders would allow stock to go below 0. You can hide the stock qty in settings.

    If you need inventory tracking for addons, you may want to look into Product Bundles or Composite products extension.
