 * This plugin looks good for static Printful products. Is there any chance to get
   it to work with variable products? That means an user can upload and customize
   a product on the store and order it via your plugin.
 * Or, do I need to implement the order process manually? If yes, does the shipping
   and tax calculation working then?

 * User customised products are not supported by default. You could achieve this
   manually by using Printful API to submit such orders with the files that your
   customers uploaded. Shipping rates and taxes only apply to synced products. If
   you implementation of customised products would be based on products that are
   synced in printful, then shipping and taxes would work fine.
