• I have a weird situation with my Woocommerce webshop. All the products have attributes and i made variations from them. I can see how many variations there are (in text) but the variations aren’t expandable anymore (or even visible). I use WPML and when i deactivate everything the variables are back but i can’t save them. After editing the SKU (that’s the fail error) i can save them but when i activate WPML the variables are still gone. In other languages the variations are correct, only the main language won’t show them. They do show up on the front-end.

New variations works fine.. Anyone has a idea? Seems like a corrupt database but i can’t find a thing.

If I understood this correctly, when you deactivate WPML, the variables are visible but when you activate the plugin, they disappear. There might be something more to this if this is the case.

Therefore, you may want to do a conflict test first to see if the variables are visible and editable when you only have a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-One and all other plugins deactivated apart from WooCommerce. Here’s how to perform a conflict test: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks.

    Hi @abwaita,

    Thanks for your reply! When i deactivate everything except Woocommerce, visit the product from the “main” language and try to edit the variations;
    – I see the variations now
    – Cannot edit them, i’m getting a error “Invalid or duplicated SKU.”
    – If i change the SKU then i can edit the variable
    – Activate WPML and the variable is gone again

Did the complete checkup with deactivating etc etc, problem still excists.

    Hi @mentixmedia,

Thanks for running a conflict test.

The error ”Invalid or duplicated SKU” is occurring because there is already an existing product on your site with the same SKU and the Update option, therefore, is not enabled.

With regards to the WPML plugin that when active should cause the variations not to be displayed I’d suggest reaching out to WPML plugin support on their forum here. You’ll also want to check this thread in which a resolution to the same issue was found.

    Cheers.

Thanks Mirko but all my 350 products do not have suddenly a duplicated version. I only see it when WPML is off, how can i check if the SKU are duplicated? I already reached out to WPML but they send me to you guys….

    Hi @mentixmedia,

    Thanks for the update.

how can i check if the SKU are duplicated?

You can check duplicate SKUs by exporting your products from Dashboard > Products > Export. This tool allows you to generate and download a CSV file containing a list of all products. Then open the CSV file with Notepad or Excel and search for duplicates.

    Cheers.

It only exports 80 products from the 350… And the one i exported are not duplicated. Did allot of testing with removing stuff and rebuilding it but they just won’t appear… New variatons are visible but excising not and i just can’t rebuild all the 350 product. Thanks!
