I ran into this problem today and thought I’d post the solution since lots of people are trying Vanilla lately.
All of my WP powered sites today were showing no posts on the front page. On the Edit screen I could see draft posts but no publish posts (even though they existed in the DB and I was logged in as Admin). And as soon as I saved a draft post as ‘publish’ it would disappear.
Glad to know that, since I was thinking about installing Vanilla shortly. I can’t have that sort of conflict though – is there a real workaround besides just deleting cookies?
Vanilla gives you a text box to type the domain you want your cookie set to. Maybe WP can use http://www.example.com and Vanilla uses just example.com?
Have to look into that before installing I guess. Time to visit the dev forum…. Thanks!
I thought my hosts had messed up my MySQL database… this could explain it… keep having to empty my cache to view my site… but no-one else was having this problem!
looks like Mark is changing the cookie name for Vanilla. I just had this problem and posted it up on the Vanilla forums.
Yup – you beat me to it, thanks for doing that! I’ll just wait for the “fix” before installing. No rush, I just do eventually want to dump phpBB before things get any worse with it….
Greetz to all Vanilla + WordPress users 🙂
A nice combo!
Can anyone advist on showing recent Vanilla posts on my WordPress sidebar… or even on sharing logins between the two?
