• Hi wondered if someone could point me in the right direction. Not even sure if I’m posting in the right section.

I completed my template and installed it onto the fresh WordPress installation on my host.

I vaildated each section of the template using the W3C validator, everything was fine, installed the theme and it validated fine with no errors. Now i have installed a few (14) plugin’s, it no longer validates? Is this down to my theme? or is it to do with the plugin’s? It all started going pear shaped when I installed the Addthis plugin. Is this common or is it something I have done?

    best regards

Something in the Addthis plug-in must be adding invalid code. Check off the “Show Source” option in the validator. It will show you the exact part of the code that doesn’t validate. If it’s a plug-in that’s adding it, you may or may not be able to tweak it yourself. Your options in that case are to ignore the validation error, ask the developer if they can make the change, or find another plug-in. It really depends how critical the error is.

Thanks I ran the Addthis plug through the validator and yeah it does seem to have a problem.

I haven’t worked out a fix yet but thanks for your input, not sure why I didn’t think about that Doh!
Not sure if anyone else is having the problem, once I find a fix I’ll post it here.

    Thanks again

    🙂
