Validation of "Sales tax number" (VAT) in EU

On a B2B web-shop I am about to create, I have a challenge in regards to validating the “sales tax” (VAT) number of other EU companies during the shopping process, so that I do not have to charge VAT.
When I do business in “the real world”, I always check the validity of the company number against
http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/ (the API can be found here: http://isvat.appspot.com/), so that I am not liable for their VAT in case it is not a real company, but I can not find a WP plug-in that can do this!
Is it something that “Poor Guys Swiss army knife” can do, and if not, is it then something which is planed to be included?
