• Hello, After switching my website to WordPress, my google traffic has plummeted by 90%. I am going thru the steps to figure out hoe to fix it and ran a validation check and got this error:

    Validation Output: 1 Error
Error Line 11, Column 15: A charset attribute on a meta element found after the first 512 bytes. charset=”UTF-8″/><meta

HELP! I have no clue what this means, what to do about it, and if it is important.

    http://www.voila-catering.com is my site.
Any suggestions on better ranking for more traffic would be appreciated.

  • In header.php move <charset="UTF-8"/> (or the string that generates it on output) to just below <head> (consult theme provider on this first)

That fixes the markup error, not the ranking.

    For being listed well.

    A) The new site has no keywords.
    B) Also appears to not have a sitemap.
    C) Have you submitted new site to Google (and other search engines)?
    D) Many of the older links appear to be .html and are still in the index. You can use rewrite/redirect rules to have old links go to the new links.

Review some very popular SEO plugins or how to accomplish each step manually.
