# Validation Errors (Missing CSS Styling & Recaptcha)

 * Default install of Contact Form 7
 * Working on a development site form page:
    [http://tsablog.passionforbusinesstest.com/contact/](http://tsablog.passionforbusinesstest.com/contact/)
 * The validation errors messages were picking up the CSS theme styling just fine,(
   background & text colors). The form was working without issue then something (?)
   happened and the validation errors no longer pickup any styling from the theme.
 * Created a new WordPress page and used the same form code:
    [http://tsablog.passionforbusinesstest.com/test-form/](http://tsablog.passionforbusinesstest.com/test-form/)
 * On this page the validation error messages pickup the theme styling just fine(
   background & text colors).
 * So I deactivated then uninstalled the following plugins:
    Contact Form 7 Contact
   Form DB Bootstrap for Contact Form 7
 * Dropped the WordPress tables that Contact Form DB creates
 * Reinstalled all of these plugins
    Recreated the forms Assigned the new form ID’s
   to the /contact/ page and the same issue still happens.
 * Additionally Google Recaptcha works on one page /contact/ but not the other /
   test-form/. Both pages are using the same ‘default template’. I have no idea
   why Recaptcha does not appear as both pages share the same form code
 * [contact-form-7 id=”2345″ title=”Contact Form: General”]
 * Thanks for any help you can offer.

 * One thing stands out between the two pages.
 * Clicking ‘Submit’ does NOT appear to send a form submission with the /contact/
   page but does do so on the /test-form/ page
 * For example the form submit URL should be something like
    …/test-form/#wpcf7-
   f2345-p2337-o1
 * but for the /contact/ page you just get
    …/contact/ (…nothing here…)

 * Problem solved, my mistake and apologies.
 * I had forgotten to activate Contact Form 7 & Google recaptcha JavaScript on some
   of the form pages. By default the only page on which CF7 was active was the /
   contact/ page.
 * Using the (paid) Gonzales plugin to control JavaScript activation on individual
   pages: [https://tomasz-dobrzynski.com/wordpress-gonzales](https://tomasz-dobrzynski.com/wordpress-gonzales)
 * Once I activated CF7 on the other form pages then the standard CF7 styling applied
   everywhere in the same way.
 * What was happening was due to CF7 JavaScript being disabled on some pages the
   contact forms were picking up on the theme’s (default) validation message styling,
   which I thought was correct as it was what I wanted to appear.
 * Instead the correct thing was CF7’s standard styling which I can now control
   the look of via some CSS.
 * For example:
 * /*Contact Form 7*/
    span.wpcf7-not-valid-tip { background: #ffe2e2; border: 1px
   solid #ff0000; color: #C10000; margin: 4px 0; padding: 15px 15px; border-radius:
   5px; box-sizing: border-box; -webkit-box-sizing: border-box; -moz-box-sizing:
   border-box; } div.wpcf7-validation-errors { background: #ffe2e2; border: 1px
   solid #ff0000; color: #C10000; }
 * div.wpcf7-response-output {
    margin: 1em 0; padding: 15px 15px; border-radius:
   5px; box-sizing: border-box; -webkit-box-sizing: border-box; -moz-box-sizing:
   border-box; }
