# Validation Error with Empty Widgets

 * Hi,
 * I noticed that when I use widgets with my WP theme, particularly the _Recent 
   Comments_ widget, it could sometimes come up empty. That’s a problem in itself,
   but my actual complaint is that it generates an empty `<ul>` tag, causing the
   page to be invalid, because all `<ul>` tags require `<li>` tags inside. I would
   suggest generating an empty `<li>` tag when there are no recent messages to show.
