Validation is for assuring that the generated code is clean. If you are running WP it is not of use to use HTML tidy. However, if there are errors in your code, or your page des not validate correctly you should try to correct the errors.
A clean markup helps computers for the blind, search engines and so on to read your website correctly.
Also, it may help assuring that your stylesheet functions correctly in different navigators.
It does not speed up your website however.
By clicking “Clean up Markup with HTML Tidy” will it mess up anything?
I dont think so. The validator does not have your admin password, right ? 😉
It just displays the clean code on the bottom of the page for you to copy paste.
