 * Hi there,
 * On my website, I have the Kubrick-theme, be it in a Dutch version. Being the
hair-splitter that I am, I’d like all my sites to be in perfect XHTML 1.0 Transitional.
However, somehow the theme seems to add <center>-tags at the beginning and the
ending of my <body>-tag. I’ve searched everywhere in my code, but I can’t seem
to solve this problem. And this *is* a problem to me, seeing that HTML validation
always crashes on these empty tags (the theme doesn’t seem to put anything in
   those tags).
 * So my question is: why does the theme put in those tags, and – more importantly–
how do I get rid of them?
 * Oh yeah, and the default Kubrick theme has the same problem. So it has nothing
to do with the Dutch remake …

 * I’ve just switched a blog to the default and also checked code and I can’t see
   this code.
Is it not in any file at all? Got a zip of your theme?

 * I just downloaded the package from the WordPress-site (I installed my copy via
Fantastico), picked out the default theme, and I get the same “error”. (it’s
not really an error, it’s the Tidy-plugin for Firefox that says that my code
   is not properly formatted)
 * The errors are on line 43 and 366. If you check the source of your page, you’ll
see that there are 2 <center>-tags with nothing in between …

 * What other plugins are you running besides the current mood? Have you tried disabling
them one by one to make sure one of them are not adding the code?

 * I’m only running the Spam Karma 2 and Current Mood-plugin, as you can see. I
disabled them, and I still get the <center>-tags …

 * Well, if you are that much a “hair-splitter”… don’t go by the Tidy in FF; it’s
   not OK for XHTML…
    Try the real validator: [http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A//bodifar.x10host.com/](http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A//bodifar.x10host.com/)
and you’ll see you have much bigger issues than the “center” thingy you are worried
   about 🙂

 * BTW: Transistional variants of XHTML and HTML4 should be avoided. These are leftovers
   from HTML3.2.

 * Tnx for the help, but I figured it out: the problem is caused by those stupid
ads my (free) host puts up … Oh well …
 * Thanks for your time and help!
