Hello, I just installed your plugin and put the honeypot field in as recommended with the name of the field set to “email” I tested it and it works, I can submit a form and receive the email, however, it shows the error message for a split second before showing the success message. Is there any way to fix that?

I am also getting an issue where it does the opposite on one of my other forms. It shows the success message for a split second, then shows a dark orange CF7 error message. However, I still receive the email. Is it because I used Google Chrome’s autofill to fill out some parts of the form?

In the Honeypot global settings I have the “Enable Time Check” option enabled and set to 4 seconds and I have “Move Inline CSS” enabled as well.

I have two Honeypot fields set up now in this second contact form, one with the name “email” and one with the name “website”.

Hi Selah, this is an odd one. It shouldn’t be an issue with Honeypot, as Honeypot simply returns a “spam” / “not spam” value to the CF7 plugin, and then CF7 does it’s thing (sends, doesn’t send, shows an error code, etc.).

What is the error message you’re receiving? Also, does this happen when you don’t check “Move Inline CSS”?

It shows the Sender’s message failed to send message template “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.” and then soon after switches to the success message “Thank you for your message. It has been sent.”

On the other form, it’s vice versa.

Sometimes, if I submit one form after the other, both after the four second timer, the second time I try to submit, it just shows the error message “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.” but still sends the form. It’s quite weird.

It does the same thing if I disable the Move Inline CSS option.

Okay so it seems that your plugin wasn’t the cause of this, sorry for the confusion/misunderstanding. I just thought it was, because the forms started acting like this after I used Honeypot, but after disabling it, it still does the same thing.

Glad to hear it’s not Honeypot, but I hope you figure out where the issue is coming in. I know how frustrating that can be. Best of luck!
