• I read all the warnings about the V7 upgrade. None of the extensions that are now paid for were needed, so I gave it a go.

Login page broken. Just shows the short code.

All other account related info pages broken. Just give nothing.

Looked for help, or a guide. Nope, nothing to be found.

Gone from a nicely working plugin (on twentyseventeen) to a website that doesn’t work.

So, restored a backup, and will leave V7 well alone until there’s a track record of other users having more success and some advice on how to configure it.

Does it give you an error message?

Nope, just whirrs away for a bit and then leaves you on the login page, not logged in.

So, it was working, but now it’s not. Did something change?

I always update plugins when they need it, and I think TML has had several updates since I finally installed V7.x Probably others too.

So, yes, things have changed. From memory: All-in-one SEO and Contact Form 7; and I think WP itself may have updated.

Every plugin, and WP, are 100% up to date.

If there are known plugin interaction issues, please let me know.

There are not – but you could certainly help identify any by disabling other plugins and testing.

Seems to be an incompatibility with plugin “Remove Dashboard Access” and either TML or latest WP. Since that plugin has not been updated for 10 months I’m dubious of it so have deactivated it and will look for an alternative.

I have used code snippets in my child theme to achieve the same result.

Bottom line, it was defo that plugin that was to blame, but not sure whether the incompatibility is TML or WP. But I’m there…for now, at least!

So, dare I say this issue is resolved?

Well, for now, yes! The fact that V7.0 definitely did not work, then 4 or 5 version in it did, and then some other updates (probably WP itself) caused an incompatability is a frustration, especially when the plug-in that appears to be the culprit has not been updated.

I’m sure you can understand why I assumed it was a TML issue (maybe it still is!) but at least I found a workaround and this may help others 🙂
