V6 is HORRIBLE

    If I could never use this again ..
    This upgrade process was HORRIBLE! I DID back up the site then upgraded the plugin. The additional data base upgrade instructions seemed hidden. AND WHY sudden;ly can it not use the site wide time zone?

    Error messages for failed events are pretty useless: For an event marked as all day: [The 89999 is greater than the duration of the event]??
    For an old event: [The start_date should be a valid date.] But not all OLD events had this warning

    I rolled back the site to a previous version.. and now, I get a database connection error and I can not log in at all.

    On another site: ALL event migrations failed with this comment: The event xxx generated an error: Migration was canceled. Please try again.

    THIS IS THE PITS!

    One of the sites listed above…. The site teae.org is now totally hosed…
    I updated the plugin TheEventsCalendar which subsequently required a database migration.
    The migration failed so I decided to roll back to an eariler version of the site.
    THEN I got the message Error establishing a database connection

    As suggested, I added the define(‘WP_ALLOW_REPAIR’, true); to wp-config.php and then everything broke.

    At the end of the error message I found this:

    Some database problems could not be repaired. Please copy-and-paste the following list of errors to the WordPress support forums to get additional assistance.

    wp_users: Table ‘tigersea_wpteae3.wp_users’ doesn’t exist
    wp_usermeta: Table ‘tigersea_wpteae3.wp_usermeta’ doesn’t exist
    wp_posts: Table ‘tigersea_wpteae3.wp_posts’ doesn’t exist
    wp_options: Table ‘tigersea_wpteae3.wp_options’ doesn’t exist
    wp_postmeta: Table ‘tigersea_wpteae3.wp_postmeta’ doesn’t exist
    wp_term_relationships: Table ‘tigersea_wpteae3.wp_term_relationships’ doesn’t exist

    Hi @kerchmcc, apologies for the delay here and sorry to hear about this. We recently released a new version that should fix most of the migration issues, https://theeventscalendar.com/known-issues/#dl_migration-errors.

    To be safe please test it out on a staging site first before implementing it on your main website.
