• I set up the email account as per good instructions as admin and then set up an email account on the my email server (same host people) and sent a test post.
    Waited a while… no post…
Checked the email box on the email server I had sent the email to and it was not there. No bounce message.. I assume it work…
But… no sign of a post anywhere.
Where should I look? my test is at http://www.evnsong.com/evnblog

  • People cant post comments on your site m8y i think you need to click on any registered members can post a message and anyone can post. Wanted to comment about the chocolate 😛 my site uses the kubrick template.

Did you make sure to run http://address.of.blog/wp-mail.php so that it would process the email? You have to set up a cronjob to run that so it will check the email. It doesn’t check without you making it.

    Thanks!~
I was afraid it was the need to run a chron task/deamon/job – now just need to find out how to set that up. No shell access
My site was not open as I am just testing but I should open it up for comments and registered posts… I was worried about spam and people hacking a site I was not sure was very secure.

I remotely ran the script http://address.of.blog/wp-mail.php and that did pick up the email. I left a note with my host company support to see how to set up a chron task. If they let me….
The format of the emailed message is all munged up but that’s something else. I’ll check the old posts and then maybe have to ask about that one . The HTML code was hidden but I kept getting “20=” inline with the text.
    Thanks again

I’m having problems with the email by post. It seems that I’m getting breaks in the email. Is there any way to take the breaks away?

I’m trying to get my e-mail posting working as well. I did do a chron job, as well as I could at any rate. I keep getting this error message:

A message that you sent contained a recipient address that was incorrectly
    constructed:

http://marshianchronicles.com/wp-mail.php missing or malformed local part (expected word or “<“)

    Any ideas??? Thanks!

    …..new POP3( )…….
The first few lines of wp-mail.php contains the above. What is supposed to go in those brackets?

The email works and the post appears, but formatted!!! Is there a way I can get rid of the formatting done by the email program? I am using Outlook Express. Thanks for any light I can get on this one!
