• I’ve posted this a few times within threads, but no response that I know of. Please pardon me if I’ve overlooked a response.
I uploaded the new 1.2.1 pages; everything was fine *after* I realized I had not ever logged out of 1.2 and had to dump cookies to log in to 1.2.1. Fortunately, my multiple attempts at logging in brought to light another problem:
What happened was that when I failed to log in, I requested the password to be emailed to me … and it arrived in Base64 encoding. Therefore, I could not use it (I tried) and the password had now been changed by WP so I had no way of knowing what it was. The only way I’ve been able to log back in was to re-upload the 1.2 pages.
Is there something I’ve done incorrectly, or is it a common problem and is there a solution? I hope for a solution because, while this may be something I can solve via phpmyadmin, that’s not a solution I’d like to give to clients. Thx.

Hm. Is no one else experiencing this problem?

No answer? Is no one else experiencing this? No one tried to retrieve a new password?
My concern is that, if I update my clients’ blogs, then they’d better not *ever* lose their passwords or request from WP a password change.

I’m having no problems with requesting an emailed password. Not sure what’s wrong with your set-up.

    Thanks, manx.
So, for you, the password is not arriving unencrypted in Base64 code? That is, you can read the password?

    SOLVED
On a hunch from reading one of the posts about line-endings, I installed the .tar version of 1.2.1 rather than the .zip file I’d tried earlier. Works fine; no glitches as of yet.

Yeah, everything arrived fine for me, but I’m using the version that came from the .zip archive. …weird…

Now it’s not okay. For some reason, I’m again getting encoded text when requesting that the password be emailed:
    Mime-Version: 1.0
    Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: BASE64
    TG9naW46IERpYW5lDQpQYXNzd29yZDogMjJmNTVhDQpodHRwOi8vZGlhbmV2LmNvbS9ibG9nL3dv
    cmRwcmV

Obviously, this is unworkable for us. Is there no one else who’s having this problem?

    Thread Starter DianeV

    (@dianev)

Okay; I’ve narrowed it down to this: only one of the blogs is having this problem, and it’s on the same server as another that is *not* having this problem. Aside from anything I may have missed, this particular blog is one folder down from the site’s root folder:
    /site.com/blog “root” -index.php is here/wordpress is here
Will report back if I discover anything.

If you lost your Yahoo email password, you will have to contact Yahoo.
