v1.17.3: not able to deactivate
-
Hello,
With the latest update 1.17.3, I cannot deactivate the plugin. Nothing happens when I click on “Deactivate” plugin.
This was working fine with previous versions.
WP5.4.1
Can you check, please?
Thanks,
Didier.

We cannot reproduce the issue from our side. It might be permission issue. Please use FTP or a file manager to remove the plugin from plugins folder and install again.
Hi,
Strange. If I select the plugin, and use the bulk action – deactivate, I can disable the plugin. So it doesn’t looks like a permission problem.
I tried your solution by deleting the plugin, re-installed, and I get the same problem with the “deactivate” button.
Never had this before.
Didier.
Can you list out what other plugins you have installed?
Sure. I did not try with the previous version of the plugin, as I am working on a new site, so I saw this deactivating problem. I always keep your plugin enabled of course 🙂
My other active plugins are:
Admin Menu Editor

Automatic Copyright Year
BackUpWordPress
Block Bad Queries (BBQ)
Bold Builder
BoldThemes WordPress Importer
Bold Timeline Lite
CF7 Smart Grid Design Extension

It seems like there is another Redirection plugin installed. Maybe it’s causing the conflict. Can you disable it and try again?
Disabled the other plugin and not better. Still unable to deactivate.
But nothing happens when I click on the button, no page reload, nothing. It is just a dead button.
This is the link behind the button.
Didier.
Sorry, we are not able to reproduce the issue from our side. We will look into this again when we got more information.
I understand. On another staging site, I can disable the plugin with no issue.
I do not know why for this plugin, on my new website, this is not working.
Ah..the mysteries of software 🙂
We can close this ticket as I keep the plugin enabled all the time, and I have other ways to disable it if required.
Still curious to know what could be the bug 🙂
Thanks for your support!
Didier.
We suggest that you can disable all plugins and test again. Then enable each plugin to see which are causing the conflicts.
Hi,
For info, with latest version 1.19.1, I am still not able to disable the plugin. Nothing happens when I click on the button “Deactivate” 🙁
Didier.
@swissspaceboy It might be permission issue inherited from previous versions. Please remove the /wp-content/plugins/ip2location-redirection directory and install the plugin again.
Hi,
I dropped the folder, installed v1.19.1, and still unable to deactivate the plugin. Really strange.
Anyway, not important for me so just for your info.
Bye,
Didier.
Can you send us a screen recording of the process you deactivate the plugin?
