v 5.0 Editor Issues

Since I updated to the new blocks editor it has become a royal pain to write/edit a post. The post keeps autosaving way too often, which causes the cursor to jump allover the place – either to the beginning of the paragraph or to the beginning of the post (I can never predict where), so if I’m in the middle of typing something all of a sudden I’m typing somewhere completely different. And this happens every 60 seconds! In addition to that, sometimes it just freezes on “saving” for a very long time and I can’t continue editing unless I close out the post and go back to it…

I’ve tried disabling plugins but can’t seem to find a culprit. I also tried changing the autosaving interval by adding define(‘AUTOSAVE_INTERVAL’, 86400); to my wp-config.php file but it seems to have no effect because it’s still autosaving every minute or so, it actually feels like it’s much more often.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I would really appreciate the help, I dread writing a new post now or doing any editing, this issue is driving me crazy
