• Three important problems:

[1] I’m signed up with UK, France, Germany, Canada and USA. Amazon have personally confirmed my registration in all regions is fine. BUT, Canada and USA will not work for me because they don’t recognise my registration. The plugin claims I haven’t joined (the others work fine).

[2] The plugin stops Caldera Forms from working. Caldera is a brilliant plugin, for which there is no real substitute. It’s also cast iron and works well under pretty much all configurations, but that doesn’t prevent Amazon from breaking it.

[3] Amazon are well-known for their ambiguous and unhelpful instructions for all things technical — which is unfortunate, given that setting up their services is usually complicated. However, unless you fork out $29, their support team is utterly useless. I didn’t pay them the money, so they failed to help me.

This is frustrating, to say the least. While Amazon continue their inexorable march to attempt domination of all financial transactions worldwide, their unfounded confidence leaves ordinary web builders unsupported and flailing in a mire of acronyms and conflicting statements. I didn’t like Amazon much before, but I am now working to eliminate them from my life altogether in favour of real people who deliver real service.
